Editorial policy
This page sets out the rules a guide has to meet before it is published on The Style Sync, and what happens when one of them fails. It exists to be held against us: if a page does not follow what is written here, it gets corrected or taken down.
Answer first
Every guide answers the question in its headline in the first paragraph. The rest of the piece explains why and shows how to apply it: the specific outfit formula, the proportion rule, the step-by-step care routine. A guide that circles the point before getting to it does not run.
Every recommendation comes with a reason
“Wear it with a light shoe” is not enough. Our guides explain what a choice does: balances volume, lengthens the line, lowers the formality, survives the heat. When a rule has an exception, the exception is in the guide, and when the answer depends on your build, your climate or the occasion, the guide says what it depends on.
Real bodies, real sizes
We write for people of every size and shape. We do not talk about “hiding flaws”, we do not treat any body type as the ideal, and we do not promise miracle effects from any garment. We talk about proportion, fit and comfort.
Care instructions: general rules and the label
Washing, drying and ironing instructions follow the general rules for each fiber and the care symbols used on U.S. labels under the FTC Care Labeling Rule and ASTM D5489. They appear in a standard block that is checked once and reused across guides, so the same rule is never written two different ways. Whenever a garment’s own label says otherwise, the label wins, and the block says so.
What we do not publish
- Brand names, store names or prices. Prices change weekly and product picks create conflicts of interest. Our guides talk about garments, fabrics and cuts, not shop windows.
- Made-up statistics, studies, experts or quotes. If a claim has no verifiable source, it does not go in.
- Trends presented as certainties. A trend is a market observation; we explain where it comes from and leave the decision to you.
- Celebrity, red carpet and runway news. It is not what this site is about.
- Personal experience or product testing that did not happen. We do not write “I wore it” or “we tested it”.
How guides are produced
Our editorial desk uses AI tools to research topics and draft guides, within the rules above. Before publication, every guide goes through two automated stages: a format check (structure, the prohibitions on this page, standard blocks) and an independent fact check that verifies rules, standards and numbers against primary sources. A guide that fails either stage is revised and checked again; if it still fails, it is not published.
Topics start from common style questions and from subjects that major fashion publications also cover. No text from another site is copied or rewritten: we use those subjects only as a signal of what people want to know.
Images are generated for this site. They show garments, fabrics and combinations, with no faces, no logos and no products from real brands.
Corrections
If you find a mistake, write to us through the contact page with the link to the guide and the passage in question. We fix errors promptly, and when a correction changes the guide’s advice, the updated date appears at the top.
Advertising
The site is free and supported by ads, which are always separate from the text and labeled. Advertisers do not choose topics, do not see guides before publication and have no influence on what we recommend.
